On this episode of the Successful Mama Podcast, guest Shannon McCaig from Passionate Penny Pincher shares how her love of couponing turned from a way to save money on groceries for her family to a job where she can serve others.
Shannon McCaig never imagined she’d be working in the blogging space. When her youngest daughter was 2, Shannon wanted to help her family financially but wasn’t sure how. She and her husband, also named Shannon, looked at their budget, and the most obvious way for her to make an immediate difference was with groceries. She realized she could plan meals and save money with couponing and was hooked. But she continued searching for a way to earn money, and when asked what her passion was, she immediately said, “I LOVE SHOPPING!” After brainstorming and feeling unsure of what to do next, Shannon’s friend Laurie Hise called her a couple week later and asked her to come work for her blog that focused on frugal living and coupon deals.
The rest is history. Shannon has worked for Laurie on Passionate Penny Pincher since 2011. Although she has worn many hats through the years, with the team now having grown to almost 20 team members, Shannon gets to focus on what she loves- shopping! She loves bringing the best deals to the Passionate Penny Pincher audience.
